Galen’s Quod animi mores enjoyed a remarkable reception across Europe during the Renaissance, particularly because of the thesis on the dependency of psychic facul- ties on the body’s temperaments. This article provides a complete review of transla- tions, editions and commentaries dedicated to Quod animi mores from the fourteenth to the early seventeenth centuries. The first section deals with the Latin translations through which this work was known, while the second section investigates its influ- ence and impact on philosophical thought, especially with regard to the issue of the soul’s mortality.
