The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of orthodontic treatment with the use of Kloehn extraoral traction in patients with class II malocclusions. The facebow appliance has been in use for over fifty years and a lot of studies have reported on its treatment effects. It has been demonstreated that headgear appliance produce important changes in growing patients. Headgear appliance are frequently used to apply orthopaedic forces to the maxillo, but the review of licterature showed controversies regarding the orthodontic or orthopaedic effects. Maxillary basal bone, dentoalveolar, and dental changes after therapy were investigated in order to determine the real effectiveness of this appliance
