With the aim of designing a customized training course, the trainees’competences in languages and teaching skills were assessed by means ofan open questionnaire. The questionnaire was developed by the staff at theUniversity for Foreigners of Perugia (UniStraPg) and sent to the potentialtrainees by e-mail. The following sections will present quantitative andqualitative data of the information provided by the trainees, which served asthe basis for defining the teachers’ profiles and adjusting the course contentsto suit the trainees’ needs.
