Swallowing is a sensorimotor process that involves the coordination of multiple muscle groups to facilitate the path of a bolus (solid or liquid), from the mouth to the stomach, protecting the airways and minimizing residues (1). Recent studies have identified new treatment techniques for the prevention of post-stroke dysphagia, exploiting neuro-plastic improvements with neurostimulation and biofeedback techniques. Despite recent evidence, the field appears to be limited by the lack of standardization and by the persistence of unanswered questions on rehabilitative variables.

Abstract
Swallowing is a sensorimotor process that involves the coordination of multiple muscle groups to facilitate the path of a bolus (solid or liquid), from the mouth to the stomach, protecting the airways and minimizing residues (1). Recent studies have identified new treatment techniques for the prevention of post-stroke dysphagia, exploiting neuro-plastic improvements with neurostimulation and biofeedback techniques. Despite recent evidence, the field appears to be limited by the lack of standardization and by the persistence of unanswered questions on rehabilitative variables.File in questo prodotto:
