Cyclic vomiting syndrome (CVS) is a rare syndrome characterized by recurrent episodes of nausea and vomiting with variable duration; the attacks are interspersed with normal periods. The disease begins in infancy, with weekly or monthly frequency; the attacks are often triggered by stress. Pharmachological treatment (antimigraine drugs, anti-emetic, antidepressive, antiepileptic drugs and neuroleptic drugs) is often ineffective. We reported a case of a patient affected with CVS attacks, generalized epilepsy and mental retardation who resulted responsive to Valproic Acid (VPA)
